2023 Election: Reactions As Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed Sprays Money On Residents From SUV

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has come under heavy criticism for spraying money at residents of his states, while he was being driven in a convoy through a cheering crowd. Bala Mohammed during the weekend caused a chaotic scene during his visit to Azare town where threw money at residents. The Governor who was being hailed by the crowd stood up through the open roof of his SUV and sprayed naira at a happy crowd. This act is actually against the Nigerian law Section 21 (3,4,5) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act 2007 clearly prohibits any form of abuse of the Nigerian currency. The Act prescribes “imprisonment for a term not less than six months or to a fine not less than N50,000 or to both such fine and imprisonment for anyone guilty of spraying of, dancing or matching on the Naira or any note issued by the Bank during social occasions. Okorocha: I Don't Rely On The Support Of The Igbos To Achieve My 2023 Presidency - Politics

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha Thursday said that he is more favouredto become the first President of Igbo extraction.The Imo governor, who spoke during a breakfast meeting with journalists at the Government House, noted that he commands massive followership beyond the Southeast much more than any other Igbo politician.But Okorocha however lamented what he called the pull-him-down attitude among Igbo political elites, stressing that, “it is unfortunate that we the Igbo don’t celebrate our own, we are only interested how to destroy our own”.He however disclosed that he will not be relying on the support of the Igbo to pursue and actualize his Presidential ambition.According to him,“I stand a better chance of making the Presidency in 2023 but my greatest challenge will come from the Igbo. It is our character.It will be a foolish thing to imagine that the Igbo will support me”.On President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election, the Imo governor, disclosed that the Igbo are mobilizing to give him landslide victory.
