2023 Election: Reactions As Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed Sprays Money On Residents From SUV

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has come under heavy criticism for spraying money at residents of his states, while he was being driven in a convoy through a cheering crowd. Bala Mohammed during the weekend caused a chaotic scene during his visit to Azare town where threw money at residents. The Governor who was being hailed by the crowd stood up through the open roof of his SUV and sprayed naira at a happy crowd. This act is actually against the Nigerian law Section 21 (3,4,5) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act 2007 clearly prohibits any form of abuse of the Nigerian currency. The Act prescribes “imprisonment for a term not less than six months or to a fine not less than N50,000 or to both such fine and imprisonment for anyone guilty of spraying of, dancing or matching on the Naira or any note issued by the Bank during social occasions. Monday night’s meeting is a follow-up on the extended version that held with President Muhammadu Buhari shortly before the President’s 10-day medical vacation to the UK.

ms Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will begin a meeting with senators elected on the party’s platform, any moment from now.
Ahmed Lawan, Majority Leader of the Senate, is expected to lead other senators to the Maitama residence of Oshiomhole, where the meeting will hold.
The gathering will review strategies of the APC caucus ahead of the possible reconvening of the National Assembly, with Oshiomhole hell-bent on seeing Saraki impeached following his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Monday night’s meeting is a follow-up on the extended version that held with President Muhammadu Buhari shortly before the President’s 10-day medical vacation to the UK.
Notable among the senators at that meeting are Abu Ibrahim, Katsina South; Kabir Garba Marafa, Zamfara Central; Lawan Ahmad, Senate Leader; Danjuma Goje, Gombe Central and Abdullahi Adamu, Nasarawa West.
Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to the President, and Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), were also in attendance.
